constructe.ch is the result of a fifty-year-old dream, a dream that can come true in 2013. Of course in 1963 no one knew that development would lead us to databases and to the Internet; however, fifty years of hard work, that is to say, my life’s work – not linearly but iteratively – has been targeted towards the outcome today. The deciding point was and still remains to be not to lose sight of the imaginary goal and – in these many years – to always be led back to the virtuous path.
The ongoing work which is documented in constructe.ch can be divided into four time periods:
Studied Architecture at the ETHZ, first contact with constructions in 1964 with ETHZ professor Ess, graphic design, dabbled in experiments with my own silkscreen. First spatial objects (1982, 1984 and 1986).
Increase in the study of handling concrete constructions: new year chronicles, working together with the silkscreen printers Möckprint AG, Rolf Korrodi, Wädenswil. As well as various applications to buildings (for example 1988).
Change of production methods: PC and Photoshop enable digital transfiguring of photographs. Attempted not to stray from the color rotation of a construction. The result is Variobox, where a picture can still be changed upon completion (2001).
Fifty years of development flows into own construction and development studio in former architectural practice. Multiples and concrete steel sculptures as well as graphics are constructed on the PC and then produced in the workshop. Countless small sculptures (models) are the result, which follow an inner logic and are put together out of one, two, three or four parts.
Today's products are thus based on the above-described very personal life line to which the architectural profession and to which the love of steel belongs and which can now be continued at the age of over seventy - with a one-year apprenticeship in the locksmith's shop Buchmann AG in Wädenswil.
